Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the foundation stone of Major Dhyan Chand Sports University at Salawa and Kaili villages of Sardhana town in Meerut at an estimated cost of about 700 Crore rupees. The Sports University will be equipped with modernand state-of-the-art sports infrastructure including synthetic Hockey ground, Football ground, Basketball, Volleyball, Handball, Kabaddi ground, Lawn tennis court, Gymnasium Hall, Synthetic running stadium, Swimming pool, Multipurpose Hall and a Cycling Velodrome.The University will have the capacity of training 1080 sportspersons, including 540 female and 540 male sportspersons.

India’s largest bank said the requisite approvals required for the acquisition have been received from the Reserve Bank of India (in July 2021) and IFSC Authority (in July 2021). Senior diplomat Vikram Misri has been appointed as deputy national security adviser in the national Security Council secretariat. The Ministry of External affairs announced that senior diplomat Anupam Ray has been appointed as India’s next permanent representative to the UN Conference on Disarmament in Geneva, Switzerland. Anupam Ray will succeed Pankaj Sharma. Ray, a 1994-batch Indian Foreign Service officer, is currently serving as a joint secretary in the MEA’s headquarters in Delhi. The Conference on Disarmament (CD) is a multilateral disarmament forum established by the international community to negotiate arms control and disarmament agreements based at the Palais des Nations in Geneva.

Water supply work is in full swing to make provision of tap water supply in villages. Provision has been made for ensuring 100% tap water connectivity to all rural households.
